Balance, not volume for its own sake

Faces lose support with age as skin, fat, ligaments and bone change. Filler can restore selected areas of structure, but good treatment starts by finding which layer is actually causing the concern.

We look at the whole face, your proportions and your profile. Sometimes that means treating several areas lightly, sometimes less than you expected, and sometimes advising that filler isn’t the right treatment.

What it can help with

Treatment areas

Each area is planned around your anatomy and the result you want, never treated in isolation.

Lip filler

Hydration, definition, shape, symmetry and proportion, built up gradually for balanced lips.

Cheek filler

Restores mid-face support and contour without making the face look wider or heavier.

Chin filler

Improves projection and profile, often the key to balancing the nose, lips and jaw.

Jawline filler

Adds definition and a smoother chin-to-jaw transition where structure is the issue.

Temple filler

Softens hollowing at the temples that can make the face look tired or gaunt.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

Smooths a bump or irregularity for a straighter profile. Filler adds volume, so it cannot make a nose smaller.

Everything you need to know

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels that restore or add volume in specific areas of the face. Most are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already produces that attracts and holds water.

Fillers differ. Softer gels suit areas that move, such as the lips, while firmer gels give structure to the cheeks, chin and jaw. Choosing the right one depends on the area, your anatomy, the injection depth, the support needed and the result you want. A great outcome relies as much on assessment and technique as on the product itself.

Why faces lose volume

Facial ageing has many causes. Skin, collagen, elastin, fat pads, ligaments, muscle and even bone all change with time. The result can be flatter cheeks, deeper folds, jowls, hollow temples, a less defined jawline, a smaller chin and a more tired look.

Filler can restore support in selected areas, but it should not be expected to fix every sign of ageing. Good treatment starts by finding which layer of the face is really causing the concern.

Natural results, not an overfilled look

Filler looks unnatural when volume is added without thinking about the whole face. We use the smallest appropriate amount in the right places, and we will advise against treating an area if it would make your face heavier or less balanced.

Sometimes the best filler treatment is less filler. The aim is for people to notice you look fresher or more balanced without knowing why.

Facial balancing and profile

Treating one feature on its own can create imbalance. Someone asking for fuller lips may benefit more from a subtle change to the chin, and adding volume to the lower face without mid-face support can drag the face down.

At your consultation we look at proportions, profile, cheek structure, jawline, lips, the nose-to-chin relationship and symmetry. Profile balancing then uses small, strategic adjustments to the chin, lips, nose, jaw or cheeks. The aim is not identical proportions for everyone. It is to work with your own features.

Fillers vs skin boosters

Both are injectable, but they do different jobs. Fillers create structure, volume and contour. Skin boosters improve hydration and skin quality without changing your face shape.

If your concern is volume loss or proportion, filler may be right. If it is dehydration, crepey texture or dull skin, a skin booster may suit you better. Many patients benefit from both at different stages of their plan.

Good to know

Questions we're often asked

There is no standard amount. We plan where the product will help most, rather than counting syringes.

Our approach is conservative and based on your proportions, to enhance your features rather than change them.

Some discomfort is expected. Most fillers contain local anaesthetic and extra numbing can be used.

Hyaluronic acid filler can usually be dissolved with hyaluronidase where clinically appropriate.
