In depth
Cosmelan® reduces the skin’s melanin production by blocking tyrosinase, the enzyme that drives pigment. It brightens and evens skin tone and helps prevent dark patches from coming back.
It treats hyperpigmentation including stubborn melasma, sunspots and marks left after acne or inflammation.
Your programme starts with a professional-strength mask applied in clinic. It stays on for a set number of hours, depending on your skin type and pigmentation, and you remove it at home.
This phase starts the depigmentation process by gently resurfacing the skin and breaking down existing pigment.
After the mask, you follow a personalised home programme for up to 6 months. It regulates ongoing melanin production and improves tone and texture with active ingredients including azelaic acid, kojic acid, arbutin and phytic acid.
We invite you back for regular skin analysis to check your progress, adjust your routine and guide you through each stage.
Only Mesoestetic skincare should be used during the Cosmelan® method. This gives the best outcome and reduces the risk of reactions.
Daily high-factor sun protection is essential during and after the programme to keep pigmentation from returning.
It goes further than a peel. It removes pigment and also regulates its production, so dark areas are less likely to return.
The biggest change comes a few weeks after the mask. Keep going with the home phase to control the cause.
Pigment is likely to return, as production hasn’t been regulated yet.
Yes. It’s non-invasive, though some redness and peeling are normal at first.
Every treatment begins with a face-to-face assessment, so your plan is built around your skin, your health and your goals.
